Our School

R.S. McLaughlin C.V.I. serves students in grades 9-12 in Oshawa, Ontario.

MCVI is a semestered school of 1160 students offering a wide variety of courses. In addition, MCVI provides Regional Inclusive Special Education programs and a French Immersion program. Guidance, Special Education and the Library Resource Centre support all programs and departments.

Teachers place a strong emphasis on assessment and evaluation to improve student learning. In addition to their studies, students are involved in a wide range of co-curricular activities including sports, musical presentations, dramatic productions, Student Parliament and many clubs. Dedicated teachers and support staff, well-motivated students and actively involved parents, all contribute to the school’s tradition of excellence.

Transportation, pick-up and drop-off

Help us support a culture of respect and harmony by reinforcing school bus and transportation safety. When driving your child(ren) to and from school, please use designated drop-off and pick-up locations. When using these locations, please wait outside for your child.

If you need help or have any questions or concerns, begin by contacting your child's teacher. If you wish to meet with another staff member, contact the school office to book a meeting. Please remember to sign in at the school office when you arrive.
